What Premium adds

Six things Free hasn't.

Premium is, mostly, the absence of friction. No ads, no skip limits, no shuffle-only. Plus offline, HiFi, audiobook hours, and a smarter set of devices.

No ads.

Premium removes them all. No interrupting ads, no sponsored interludes, no "you're listening to Spotify". Just the music.

Offline.

Download up to 10,000 songs per device, across 5 devices. Long-haul flights, dead-zone subways, the bush — listen anyway.

HiFi audio.

Up to 320 kbps on Premium — five times the bitrate of Free. The bassline you couldn't hear before is, suddenly, the part you can't stop hearing.

Spotify Connect.

Cast from phone to speaker, speaker to laptop, laptop to TV. Same song, every device, no AirPlay required. Spotify across the house.

Unlimited skips.

Free gets six skips per hour. Premium gets all of them. This matters more than you think the first time you're three tracks into the wrong album.

Audiobook hours.

15 hours of audiobook listening included every month on Individual, Duo, and Student. Family covers one designated listener. 350,000 titles, included.

Questions

The short answers to seven things.

Click a question to see the answer. None of the answers are very long.

How does the one-month free trial work?

Sign up, listen for thirty days, decide. If you stay, you'll be billed at the standard monthly rate (Individual $11.99, Duo $14.99, Family $19.99, Student $5.99). If you leave, you'll be moved to Free, with everything you saved still there.

You can cancel at any point during the trial and you won't be charged. We don't ask for a card to start.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Cancellation takes two clicks in Account → Subscription. You'll keep Premium until the end of your current billing period, then move to Free automatically. No retention call, no exit interview, no friction.

What payment methods are accepted?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and direct carrier billing in the markets where we offer it. Gift cards and prepaid Premium codes are accepted in the US, UK, and most of the EU.

What's the difference between Premium and Family?

Premium is one account, one library, $11.99/month. Family is up to six accounts, each with their own library and recommendations, sharing one bill at $19.99/month. Everyone in the household needs to live at the same address. Family is the cheapest plan per-person if you have three or more listeners.

Who counts as a "Student"?

Anyone enrolled at an accredited higher-education institution we can verify through our partner service. You'll need to verify your status every 12 months, for up to four years total. You get every Premium feature at half the price.

Does Premium include audiobooks?

15 hours of audiobook listening per month is included on Premium Individual, Duo (per account), and Student. Family includes 15 hours for the plan owner only. If you finish your 15 hours, you can top up by the hour, or just wait for next month.

Will my saved music carry over from Free?

Yes. Your library, playlists, follows, listening history, and recommendations all carry into Premium and back out to Free if you ever downgrade. Nothing is lost. The library is yours.
